In Neil Simon’s revision of his own play, the lead characters are now Olive Madison and Florence Unger. Into Olive’s messy apartment Florence arrives, fresh from being dumped by her husband. Soon the messy and unconcerned Olive is sharing her untidy place with the obsessively clean and hygiene-obsessed Florence. Olive’s easy-going outlook soon clashes with Florence’s high-strung neuroticism, testing their friendship to the limit. And when Olive organizes a double-date, their differences come to a head and sparks fly.
