HEAVEN IN CHAINS
“A Real Pandora’s Box of Psychological Intrigue”
Four Roman Catholic priests have been relieved of their religious duties and ordered to attend psychiatric evaluation and group therapy, at a retreat home owned by the Archdiocese. These priests are being kept away from the general population, because of their crimes committed against their faith.
The therapist, who has been ordered to organize these sessions, believes that these men of the cloth all need to come to terms and face their problems in the cold light of day.
However, it doesn’t take long for this entire small assembly to begin to evolve into nothing more than a parlor game for three of the veteran priests, who are in attendance. But for the one young, remaining priest, who rounds out this rowdy group, his feelings are that his entire life may come crashing in on him at any moment.
As the therapist tires of these mind games and calls an end to the day’s session, the priests are left on their own to explore their past sins. It is in these dark moments that follow, that the real truths about them and their sordid crimes begin to boil to the surface. Like a modern day Inquisition, they start to pry and pull at each other’s stories and lives, until they begin to learn more than they were really prepared to hear.
Heaven in Chains is a powerful psychological drama torn from today’s headlines, peppered with dark comedy and satiric moments, which are certain to make an evening at the theater, truly something to talk about.
Written by Norman Macera; Directed by Dave Di Pietro
WARNING – This play includes adult situations, sensitive themes, coarse language, a depiction of suicide and LGBTQ+ content. May not be suitable for all patrons or children under 18 years of age.

A Murder Is Announced by Agatha Christie begins with the local newspaper printing a story about a murder, that oddly has yet to occur.
The neighbors soon realize the advertisement was not a game – the man really was killed. But was it murder? Or suicide? The case is brought to Detective Craddock who, with Miss Marple’s help, discovers that the situation becomes more dangerous as time to solve it is running out.
This is a classic Christie puzzle of mixed motives, concealed identities, a second death, a determined inspector grimly following the twists and turns, and Miss Marple on hand to provide the final solution at some risk to herself in a dramatic confrontation just before the final curtain.
Directed by Scott Rousseau.
